Third Rock Recycle is the brainchild of one of our long term clients, DiscountElectronics.com Always pushing the boundaries between retailer and community participant, Discount Electronics wanted to start a program which would not only recycle unused electronics and reduce physical waste, but also give financial support to charitable organizations. The idea allowed customers world wide would to E-DONATE toDiscountElectronics.com their unused equipment they and then choose which organization they would like the proceeds to go to, like Goodwill or the Red Cross, the customer was also allowed to request the money be returned to a personal or business PayPal account.

What We Did

The Third Rock Recycle was a great microsite project which gave us room to have some fun. We created the branding, and launched a beautiful micro site which served as a platform between the store and the donator. The site offers a form where users can let DiscountElectronics.com know what they will be donating and then lets them choose their charity of choice. It is an all-in-one package which includes terms of service and form submission, so users can fill the information out, and start donating their unused electronics easily.

The Result

Within days of launching, the Third Rock Recycle site took off. Users have been taking advantage of reducing E-waste, and donating money to charities.
