Live Mosaic
What They Needed
LiveMosaic is a new family focused social network start-up based out of Austin Texas. With a focus on media sharing and privacy settings they have created a business model around changing the way family and friends share photos online. We've consulted with LiveMosaic on marketing, conversions, and user interface design.
What We Did
The early steps in the project were based around learning what LiveMosaic wanted to offer its customers. Online competetion proved fierce & in a world of Flickr and Facebook.com, how were we're going to tell the world the benefits of LiveMosaic? We needed to develop an onscreen product tour which had enough depth to separate us from our competition yet move quickly enough that we could hold their customers attention.
Our second goal was to develop an easy to use user interface (UX design) so customers could quickly register and start using the software on day one of signup. We designed it in such a way we made it simple enough to use day one while extended the depth to still deliver advanced users the features they need later in their learning curve.
Our third goal was to create engaging themes so we could market the platform accordingly. We learned early on that the current season had much impact on the feelings of the themes. During winter months we wanted to roll out deep red themes that felt warm and relaxing. During the early summer months we really wanted to celebrate spring time.
The Result
Design is subjective but success isn't. Since collaborating with the LiveMosaic team we've been able to take their company from their early concept days to actually having a product to put in the market place.
